The doctoral and article writing workshop will be jointly organized by Bouchra M'Zali, Turcotte Marie-France, Chantal Hervieux and Jean Pasquero. The first day will be mainly devoted to first- and second-year thesis students, a day that will allow them to participate in five workshops on research methodology. The second day will be dedicated to doctoral students and newly established researchers who, having already started writing their thesis or a publication project and will present and discuss their research work before a committee of professors-researchers, with a view to helping them progress in their doctoral or publication course. Each participant will be supervised by two teachers. He or she will present and discuss his/her research work with the various established and recognized researchers.

A workshop in two blocks spread over two days aims to prepare doctoral students and young researchers to make an oral presentation in front of an audience of researchers, either face-to-face or remotely.
Those wishing to participate in the doctoral workshop, which will take place on 16-17 January 2023, must submit, before October 15, 2022, a 4-page document summarizing the research problem, the methodology, the expected results, and the difficulties encountered or anticipated. This document must indicate the major bibliographical references (5 to 10) serving as a theoretical basis for the thesis.

The first page of this document will include:
-
title or subject;
-
the name of the doctoral student;
-
the university of registration and the name of the person supervising the thesis;
-
the address of the doctoral student (affiliation, postal and electronic addresses, telephone and fax);
-
the date of the first thesis registration;
-
a maximum of five (5) keywords.

Doctoral students whose proposal is selected by the heads of the doctoral school will have to submit, before December 15 2022, a second document of approximately 15 pages detailing the problem, the methodology and the possible results.
Evaluation procedure
The texts will be evaluated anonymously by at least two researchers considered, based on the keywords, as experts by the scientific committee of the conference. Authors are encouraged, under penalty of rejection of their proposal, to ensure that the content of their text does not allow their identification.
The evaluations will be returned to the authors according to the dates indicated above. Four situations may arise:
-
Acceptance without modification;
-
Acceptance subject to minor modifications;
-
Acceptance subject to major modifications;
-
Rejection.
Sending final versions
To be published in the conference program or proceedings, the final version of the text in doc, rtf or pdf format must be sent by email to chantal.hervieux@smu.ca no later than January 1st 2023. After this date, the publication of a text in the proceedings of the conference cannot be guaranteed. In case of revision, the authors are requested to clearly indicate on a separate sheet, for the attention of the scientific council, the modifications made.

One last note: any paper accepted but not presented at the conference, for whatever reason, will be removed from the conference program and proceedings.
